We don’t have Macdonalds or KFC, much to the chagrin of the locals but weipa does have some very suitable places to dine out.

You can eat at the Bowls Club (Bowlies) or just sit down at the bar for a social beer. If you’re not local, you’ll need to sign in but if you’re going to be around for a while you might as well spring for the social membership of $15. This allows you to go in at any time without the need to sign in. The food here is not bad at all and is reasonably priced

Carpentaria Golf Club

The Carpentaria Golf Club, also known as the ‘golfies’ also offers a restuarant area and a bar. There is an outside dining area overlooking the golf course.
